The Client

JackieBWriting is a small business specializing in freelance writing, editing, and content strategy. Jackie produces a wide variety of personalized content for clients. Her work has been shared by millions of internet users and appeared in outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, CNSS, the New York Times, USA Today, Fox News, and CNN, among many others. You’ve probably even read some of it without knowing it, since, as she says, “The funny thing about being a ghost writer is, once the job is done, you’re supposed to STAY a ghost.”

The Task

Jackie needed a website to help clients find her, and to show off her services and her portfolio. She wanted to site to be eye-catching, user-friendly, and easily updated by her. She also wanted it to have a place to add testimonials from her past clients, and multiple ways for clients to contact her. Finally, she wanted something a little different, and less corporate, than other sites she’d seen.

What We Did

We gave Jackie a beautiful, functional site with a personal touch. She’d mentioned liking the concept of one-page websites which she’d come across in her own research, so we designed a simple, one-page scrolling site with a parallax background (the kind that scrolls at a different speed than the foreground) to give the site a dynamic, striking, feel. We also custom designed graphics of her, and of her pets, to give the site a personal touch while also keeping it light-hearted.

The site shows off the places her work has been featured, and really allows her writing itself to shine (she, of course, produced all the content).
